Fujitsu Scanner E18 Sensor Error

Fujitsu was launched in 1935 and has maintained a global presence ever since by manufacturing a variety of electronic equipment, including scanners. As with all electronic devices, Fujitsu scanners will issue an error code, such as E18, when something goes wrong.

Identification

The E18 error code is generated by Fujitsu's fi-5900C scanner when it develops an issue with its sensors. The scanner has photo sensors on both walls of the stacker that measure paper thickness and height, color and density.

Troubleshoot

When the Fujitsu fi-5900C generates the E18 error code, turn off and on the scanner. If the error is still displayed, you need to contact an authorized Fujitsu service provider to fix the problem.

Prevention/Solution

Fujitsu recommends that you maintain the sensors by cleaning them after every 10,000 pages scanned to prevent major issues from developing. Use a cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the sensors.
