Specifications for GM Hydrogen Cars
Starting in 2002, General Motors Corp. was at the forefront of the automotive industry's efforts to build vehicles powered by hydrogen. The company has introduced several hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, including the AUTOnomy concept car, and the Chevrolet Equinox crossover sport utility vehicle.

Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox, a four-wheel drive SUV, was first sold to consumers in 2006. It had three carbon fiber fuel tanks to hold compressed hydrogen gas, and a nickel-metal hydride battery pack to power its fuel cell system. It had a three-phase asynchronous electric motor with integrated power electronics. It was designed to last up to 2.5 years, or 50,000 miles.
