The Kenwood DNX5120 is a combination DVD/CD player and navigation system. The system offers Bluetooth support and USB control for portable music devices, like mp3 players. The Kenwood DNX5120 also includes Garmin navigation technology and features maps of Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States.

Considerations

The Kenwood DNX5120 might require an occasional update. You have the option of leaving your system as-is or downloading a software update that allows you to access the newest maps and destination information. As of 2011, software updates are free to download from the Garmin website, but map updates are only available on DVD for a fee.

Prevention/Solution

You have the option of programming a security code into the Kenwood DNX5120. If you or anyone else disconnects the system, it will not work again until after it receives the code. This is a security measure to discourage thieves from breaking into your vehicle to steal the unit.
