About Motorized Paper Plates Making Machines

About Motorized Paper Plates Making Machines thumbnail
This plate has a mechanical history.

Motorized paper plate machines use mechanized stamp molds and cutters to turn card stock into disposable plates. The vast majority of these machines are now manufactured in China, though India has made inroads in the lighter-duty machines.

  1. Production Cycle

    • Paper plate machines use electricity to cycle a combined mechanical-hydraulic system. The mechanical system feeds the card stock onto a stamp mold and a hydraulic arm stamps and cuts the plate, whereupon the plate is mechanically shifted into an output tray.

    Machine Versatility

    • Some of these machines are versatile. The more complex machines can make variably sized plates; some machines can be adapted to make paper plates, paper bowls or paper cups, using exchangeable stamp-molds and adjustable input-output containers.

    Basic Specs

    • Most of these machines use a 220-volt power source. The output rates vary from 40 to 60 pieces per minute and require an operator to resupply feedstock. Large machines can weigh in excess of 1,000 lbs. and take nearly 100 cubic feet of space.
