Hot Vs. Cold Absorber Plates
Solar absorber plates are an important part of a solar power system. They absorb the sun's rays so that they can be turned into electricity. There are two types of these absorber plates: hot and cold. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Hot
-
Hot absorber panels collect heat from the sun and direct that energy directly to a hot water heater. They also can be set up to warm the water in a swimming pool. These panels are arranged with a special insulation that absorbs the sunlight and provides the heat.
Cold
-
Cold absorber plates differ from hot plates because they are not placed in direct sunlight. They are located in the shade, and are an integral part of the system because they cool the hot plates and keep them from overloading.

Fun Fact
