The NFPA guidelines require strobe lights to be visible from any viewpoint within a room. The guidelines also call for a minimum of 55 feet between each strobe light.
Height

NFPA guidelines state the strobe lights must be no more than 30 feet from the floor. If the ceiling is higher than 30 feet, a suspension system must be used to bring the strobe light down to the 30-foot maximum height.

Any strobe lights emitting light within the same space must be synchronized so they emit at the exact same time. This requirement is in place to minimize risk of causing someone an epileptic seizure.
