Seeburg SS160 Problems

Owners of Seerburg SS160 juke boxes can encounter some problems with its functionality. Common problems may include blown fuses, incorrect speaker volume, speed control and tone arm dysfunction.

  1. Blown Fuse

    Speaker Volume

    • If the speaker volume plays a consistent tone at all levels and you hear a buzzing sound, the keyboard latch solenoid may be worn out.

    Autospeed Problem

    • If the SS160 scans and cycles at the correct speed, yet the needle stops and will not rotate a record, check the caps, rectifiers and transistors. Speed control should be set within the range of 3/4 to full range.

    Tone Arm

    • Red tone arms for SS160 juke boxes have been recalled, and should be replaced with a green colored tone arm.
