Leak Effectiveness

A popular type of cold applied roof coating is the monolithic membrane system. This coating is made of polymeric resins which are applied as a liquid and cure to form a tough rubber-like membrane. A monolithic membrane is effective against leaks because it is seamless and self-flashing.
Cost Effectiveness

Cold applied roof coatings are effective in saving labor and material costs. It can be applied without removing the current roofing product and increases the life of a flat roof by up to 20 years.

Energy Effectiveness

A white reflective coating, applied over the top of cold applied roof coatings, can reflect over 80 percent of the sun's rays, resulting in a much cooler building and greatly reducing the amount of energy needed to cool the building.
Stability

Some cold applied roof coatings require the use of reinforcing fiber which is made of polyester. Polyester is naturally unaffected by water, dimensionally stable and elongates to act with the natural expansion and contraction of a roof.
