  1. Workshops

Reserve a spot in a training workshop at the closest Associated Training Services location by phone or online. The company holds workshops in Wisconsin, Florida and New Hampshire. Attend the workshop to acquire free training.

    Entry-Level Positions

    • Apply for an entry-level position on the maintenance crew with your state's Department of Transportation. The state offers opportunities for advancement into other positions, such as heavy equipment operator, and the necessary training. Other maintenance crew contractors may offer similar advancements.

    Time Frame

    • The average dozer and heavy equipment training time for one school is about six weeks. The Associated Training Services workshops offer a full day of training for free. Organizations like the Department of Transportation may train employees in heavy equipment operation by sending them to schools or they may have their own training program.
