If creating your own ion generator seems too difficult, you can buy a kit. A kit has most of the wiring put together, but may require you to perform some soldering, connect a power source or converter, or supply a protective casing for the device.

Research

Before deciding on an ion generator design or kit, it's wise to conduct a little research. Some ion generators only create ions in a very small area and will not cover an entire room, so you need to find out how effective a design is before you begin creating your own generator.
