Making furniture from books is a bit akin to making it from cardboard, but perhaps with a lot more personality. It's possible to construct furniture from books and some artists do just that, making a broad range of pieces. Does this Spark an idea?

    • For book lovers, the reason behind using books as building blocks for furniture is logical. Books hold a special place in the hearts of these folks and, as such, this type of furniture makes great gifts. These pieces represent a one-of-a-kind piece, which was intended specifically for the receiver.

    Types

    • While it may not be feasible to construct all of a home's furniture from books, some household items lend themselves to this form of construction. Coffee and end tables represent some of the most obvious examples. According to the "New York Times," artist Jim Rosenau also creates bookcases and bookshelves from books.

    Book Art

    • Although not exactly furniture, other household items can be constructed from books, including some interesting sculptures and pieces of artwork.
