LiftMaster 2000SDR Problems

Faulty wiring is to blame for most problems with the 2000SDR.

Most common problems with the Lifemaster 2000SDR garage door opener are wiring related. Improper installation or shorts in the wiring can cause a variety of malfunctions. As with any electrical device, precautions should be taken to avoid electrocution.

Door Control

If the remote control works but the door control doesn't, check to see if the push bar is lit. If it is not, it is likely a result of a faulty connection within the unit.

Opens and Closes

If the garage door opens and closes by itself it may be a result of an intermittent short in the door unit wiring. Temporarily disabling the unit and using the remote control exclusively should work as a short-term fix.

Obstructions

Any obstruction in the garage door line may cause the door to not open or close properly. If the door does not open all the way, close all the way or reverses itself while in motion, check for obstructions in the path.
