A little information can help you overcome server connection problems.

Charter is a company that provides network-based services, including T.V. and phone utilities and Internet connection. Customers can occasionally encounter difficulty when trying to connect to Charter's servers, but it's easy to remedy the issue.

  1. Web

    • As of 2011, Charter offers a file-hosting service called Charter Web Space Access that allows you to upload files to your server space to store with others. One misperception of the service is that it does not come activated with your Charter service account. You need to long into your account to set your username and password for this service.

    Email

    • To properly connect to Charter's email servers from an email client, ensure that you use pop.charter.net and smtp.charter.net for your POP and SMTP servers, respectively. Additionally, verify that you have the incoming port set to "110" and the outgoing port set to "25."

    Mobile Phone

    • If you are trying to connect to Charter's server through Charter's mobile email, enter your username as username@charter.net, not just your username.
