Pipe & Tubing Benders
Manual and electric pipe and tubing benders are essential tools for bending pipe or tubing smoothly, without crimping. They are used to create accurate complex bends, such as saddle bends or back-to-back bends, as well simple up-and-down bends.

Ram Style Bending
-
The simplest and cheapest way of bending pipe and tubing is known as ram style bending. Here, the pipe or tubing is fixed at both ends and a ram, or piston, pushes on the middle of the pipe to bend it. This process may result in deformation of the pipe or tubing on its inside and outside diameters.
Mandrel Bending
-
If avoiding deformation of the pipe or tubing is important, it may be bent by a process known as mandrel bending. The pipe or tube is supported internally by a flexible mandrel, or spindle, which bends with it to produce minimal deformation.

Conduit Bender
-
Conduit benders are designed to bend steel conduit, or ducting, used by electricians for running wires in exposed locations. This type of bender can also be used to bend hard copper pipe, which may be too hard for the small pipe and tubing benders commonly sold in plumbing outlets.
