Can a Chrylser Concorde Pull a Trailer?

The full-size, front-wheel drive Chrysler Concorde was last produced in 2004 and it was offered in three trim styles, each with a different V-6 engine. The towing capacity of a Concorde depends on which engine is installed in the vehicle.

  1. Tow Capacity

    • Equipped with a 2.7-liter engine, the maximum towing capacity of the Concorde is 1,500 pounds. Concordes equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. The weight of the trailer tongue should be included in calculating the overall weight being towed.

    Limitations

    • According to Chrysler, the maximum frontal area of the trailer cannot be greater than 32 square feet and the towing must be for non-commercial use to maintain the manufacturer's warranty. Any other towing application will void the warranty.

    Considerations

    • In weather hotter than 95 degrees F, Chrysler advises that drivers of Concordes equipped with the 2.7-liter engine should not drive faster than 65 mph. Using the "3" range while towing a trailer will reduce excessive shifting and heat buildup, Chrysler notes, adding that the "D" (or "drive") setting can be used but "3" must be selected if drivers encounter excessive shifting. Trailers over 1,000 pounds should be equipped with their own brakes.
