Scanjet Scan to Printer Error
The Hewlett-Packard (HP) Scanjet scans documents and saves them to your computer's hard drive. Once the scanner is connected and in use, you might experience communication problems between the scanner and the printer.

USB Cable
-
Unplug the universal serial bus (USB) cable from the back of the scanner and the computer to reset the connection. Ensure the cord is intact. Plug a separate device into the computer's USB port. If the port is nonresponsive, plug the USB cord into a different USB port on the computer.
TMA Cable
-
Confirm that the transparent media adapter (TMA) cable, which extends from the scanner base to the scanner lid, is connected properly. Unplug the cable from the base and lid and reinsert them firmly.
-
Reset
-
If an error continues to occur after cable adjustments, perform a system reset. Unplug the USB cable from the scanner, turn off the computer, wait one minute, turn the computer on and reconnect the USB cable into the scanner.
Printer
-
Confirm that the printer is powered on, properly connected to the computer and loaded with paper.
