Square steel tubing makes structure a reality.

Various industries use square steel tubing. Compared to round steel tubing, square steel tubing is more efficient, stronger and durable. Structural projects, trailers, racks, shelves and ornamental purposes typically use square tubes.

  1. Structural Steel Tubes

    • Structural steel tubes conform to certain standards of chemical composition and strength when formed into a specific shape. Most industrialized countries regulate structural steel shape, composition, size, strength and storage.

    Square Steel Tubing Properties

    • A number of stainless steel grades --- particularly martensitic age-hardened stainless steel --- produces square steel tubing. Types 304, 304L and 316L are grades of stainless steel used to make tubing. Carbon steel is the alloy used to produce square steel tubes.

    Square Steel Tubing Standards

    • Square steel tubing conforms to IS: 1161 / 1998, which corresponds to BS-1139, 6323, ASTM - A500, and JIS-G-3444 standards. Nominal pipe size in mm, the outside diameter in mm, the series of pipes, the wall thickness in mm and the weight of the plain end in kg/m and m/ton categorize the piping specifications.
