Career Systems Management for Navy Reservists
The U.S. Navy's Career Systems Management (CMS) website allows both active and reservist naval personnel to research available positions within the Navy. The website also allows sailors the opportunity to research roles they wish to gain in the future and to identify the skills needed for a successful application.

Jobs
-
Naval reservists can use CMS to request jobs for their periods of active duty that fit into their rating. The system can also be accessed by each sailor's Career Command Counselor, who also assists in finding requested orders.
Alerts
-
CMS can be used by Navy Reservists to prepare for deployment as it alerts each individual to the actions that must be completed prior to active duty. For example, approximately 10 months prior to active duty the system alerts individuals who have not submitted required up-to-date physical fitness assessment data.

Flags
-
CMS uses a flag system to alert reservists of problems with applying for specific positions during periods of active duty. A specific tenure flag may notify a reservist that the position he is applying for requires a billet that may last longer than his period of duty.
