TV Signal Test Equipment
TV signal test equipment measure how well a TV receives a signal from a transmission station and how well it responds to and processes that signal. Test equipment generally falls in one of the following categories: TV test transmitter, video signal analyzer and a video measurement test set.
-
TV Test Transmitter
-
A TV test transmitter generates a test transmission that simulates an actual transmission signal. Technicians apply the test signal to TV circuits for testing. Signal specification options associated with this type of equipment includes a frequency range of 0.3 MHz to 3.3 GHz and signal strength ranging from -99.9 dBm to +13 dBm.
Video Signal Analyzer
-
Once the TV test transmitter generates a signal, technicians use a video signal analyzer to analyze how the TV responds to the signal. This type of equipment can analyze signals from standard TVs, HDTVs as well as PC video cards.
-
Video Measurement Set
-
The video measurement set provides additional measurement and analytical tools to support the video signal analyzer. Additional tools include a digital waveform monitor, digital vectorscope and noise measurement set.
