How do I Sandblast with Pressure Pots?

Sandblasting is an art that is used in decorating, such as glass etching, or even cleaning rust off of metal. Sandblasting systems vary, including the pressure-pot type, that utilizes compressed air for its overall power.

  1. Function

    • A pressure pot sandblaster is designed for larger sandblasting jobs, such as for use in commercial sandblasting industries. It uses lower pressure and has a faster blemish removal time than other sandblasters, like the common siphon system.

    Features

    • To sandblast with a pressure pot, fill the pressure vessel with sand or other abrasive and secure the seal with the tee handle. Fill with air through the use of the air inlet valve. The system is now ready, with the control of the metering valve, to sandblast the ready material.

    Considerations

    • Pressure pots come in differing sizes. It is recommended to have a large holding vessel to ensure long sandblasting performance before having to refill. This will make a sandblasting job more efficient.
