Bluetooth Dongle Problems
A Bluetooth dongle is a small portable piece of hardware with a USB connector, which connects computers to external Bluetooth devices. Once the device is inserted into the computer's USB port, you might experience problems with connectivity.
-
Windows Detection
-
Access the Windows control panel, and select "System," then "Device Manager." If the dongle is properly inserted, it is listed in the device manager. If you don't see the dongle listed, unplug the device from the computer and reinsert it. If the dongle is still undetected, unplug it and reinstall the supplied software.
Pairing
-
An external paired device is listed in "My Bluetooth Places" even when it is out of range or powered down. Move the external device within range and confirm that it is turned on and in discovery mode.
-
BDA Address
-
If you don't know where to find the Bluetooth device address (BDA), access the configuration panel and click the "Hardware" tab. The BDA is a 48-bit address and is displayed in hexadecimal format, for example: "00:D0:B7:03:2E:9F." The BDA is unchangeable by the user.
