Autodesk Mechanical 2006 Specifications

Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 is a computer-aided design application oriented to mechanical purposes. It offers a very wide range of features and preset objects. The minimum computer specifications are moderately high.

  1. System Requirements

    • According to AMS, a computer should meet or exceed the following specifications to run Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical 2006: PIII processor at one gigahertz or faster, Windows 2000 or XP, 512 megabytes of RAM, Internet Explorer version six and 32-bit color at 1024x768 resolution. A slower processor may work but performance will decrease.

    Capability Specifications

    • Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical features over 700 thousand ready-to-use parts and eight thousand preset holes, according to the "Product Summary" for 2006. It also offers an automatic symbol drawing function. The software accommodates seven different drafting standards, such as ISO and ANSI.

    Updates and Fixes

    • It's important to keep the software updated for the best results. As of January 2011, Autodesk's website indicates that they have released four hotfixes and two service packs for AutoCAD Mechanical 2006. The 2nd service pack and the fixes remain available for download from Autodesk.
