Some printers may not print properly on transparencies or labels.

The Dell Color Laser Printer 3000cn is sized for small businesses. It features drop-in toner cartridges and the Dell Toner Management System to let you know your toner is running low.

  1. Smears/Streaking

    • When you see smears on your printouts or the printed text is coming off the page, it is usually a problem with the type of paper being used. If the ink is streaking, spotting or blurring, it could be a problem with the toner cartridge.

    Paper Settings

    • To check what type of paper you are using, look at the Tray Settings menu on your printer and choose Paper Type. Smearing can occur when the printer is set to a different paper type than the one being used.

    Compatible Media

    • Smearing may also be caused by use of an incompatible type of paper. To check which paper will work with your printer, consult Dell's print media guidelines. Find the right type of tray across the top of the chart and the left-hand side will list various paper types that may be compatible. Using the wrong media could result in jamming or poor print quality.
