RavenWest Guitars were first produced in the 1960s and were similar in appearance and quality to the Gibson brand of guitars, but more affordable in terms of price. The company was founded in Rockford, Illinois but the guitars were manufactured in Canada and sold there in large music stores. These vintage guitars are still popular and available through careful searches with collectors.

Because of a combination of unexpected circumstances, the company was acquired by one of the former employees of RavenWest and it has remained an independent company ever since.

RavenWest Guitars is based in Temple City, California. The guitars are now manufactured in Korea. They seek to maintain the same quality as top guitars on the American market, but at a more affordable price. The company is still family owned and has not been bought out by any large guitar manufacturers.

I own a Raven guitar. This is the name of the company before it became Ravenwest. My guitar is a RP-450. This is basically a PRS Hollowbody "clone" style guitar. I did "modify" this guitar some what. However, as a former PRS employee I can honestly say these guitars. are a HUGE bang for the buck. The construction is great. The hardware is "ripe" for replacement. I have had several offers for my guitar. No way I'm selling it. It's a Raven RP-450. By the way this Raven. guitars were sold with a lifetime warranty. NOBODY DOES THAT! If you can find a Raven RP-450 on Ebay.......Buy it! Prepare to be blown the "F" away.....
