Trumpet honeysuckle bears clusters of tubular red and orange flowers. The blossoms of the Magnifica are coral on the outside and golden yellow within. These blossoms appear in midspring, attracting hummingbirds, butterflies and honeybees. The flowers give way to red berries, which feed a number of birds including finches, thrushes and robins.

Trumpet honeysuckle thrives in full sun and tolerates drought. It is hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zones 4 to 10. This plant grows wild in open woodlands and along roadsides and fencerows. It requires good air circulation, abundant light and well-draining soil.

Trumpet honeysuckle grows up to 20 feet long, bearing an abundance of glossy, green leaves, which are deciduous in Northern climates. This trailing vine makes an attractive groundcover or ornamental covering for a fence, trellis or gazebo.
