Inland Marine Adjuster Training

The scope of inland marine insurance is extended by floater policies.

Inland marine adjuster training is usually provided as a section in an insurance adjuster licensing course. Each state has its own licensing requirements for adjusters and there are many training programs available specific to each state.

Type of Claims

Inland marine adjusters investigate insurance claims for computerized equipment, property in transit over land, property under construction, and movable property. They also investigate claims against carriers and storage facilities of goods and certain infrastructure, such as bridges and radio towers.

Licensing

Many licenses certify adjusters to work not just inland marine, but many other types of claims, such as residential, automobile and workers' compensation. Licenses in some states are reciprocated by other states. States that do not have adjuster license requirements often honor licenses obtained from another state, such as Florida.

Training Programs

There are various types of training programs available. For example, you can complete classroom courses, online programs, or self-study correspondence courses. Many courses include training in the computer software used by insurance adjusters. Sometimes, completing an approved adjuster course exempts graduates from any state exam requirements.
