No "best" amp really exists for a Kicker L7. Matching up the power ratings should be the first thing you look at when deciding. Matching up impedance ratings is not usually a factor because most amps and subs use between 1 and 4 ohms and can operate anywhere in between. As with most purchases, choose an amp that fits your budget.
Bridged Mode

Some two-channel amps are rated at around 200 watts, for example, but have the capability to be bridged. This means you can use the amp in a mono mode, which combines power into only one channel. Thus, a 200-watt amp can be turned into a 700-watt mono amplifier. Although almost any amp will work with your L7, get an amp that will provide some juice to your sub, at least in the 440 to 700 watt range.

If there is such a thing as a "best" amp for your L7, then it would have to be a BD-class mono amp rather than an AB class. Mono amps are designed for use with subwoofers, and a BD-class sub features high-quality circuitry to match your high-class Solo Baric L7 square subwoofer. Your L7 is rated for 1,000 watts RMS, so getting an amp that operates near that number is imperative. For example, a 200-watt amp that creates 700 watts in bridged mode is close to 1,000 watts, so it will work fine. An amp that is rated for 1,000 watts RMS will perfectly match your L7's RMS rating.
