Are Schlage Deadbolts "Bump-Proof"?
A relatively new security problem is the threat of "bumping," in which a lockpick with a blank key can open most locks that are commonly used in homes. Should you be worried that your Schlage lock is vulnerable? Not necessarily. Does this Spark an idea?

What Locks Are Vulnerable?
-
Tumbler locks that rely only on the alignment of pins are generally vulnerable to lock bumping. Because they are made to finer tolerances and are designed to move more smoothly, high-precision locks may be even more vulnerable. However, since lock-bumping first entered the public consciousness in the early 2000s, lock manufacturers have taken additional steps to reduce the threat.
Schlage Locks
-
Schlage products are generally resistant to lock-bumping and in some cases have been specifically designed to reduce the lock's vulnerability to the procedure. The Primus line of locks, for example, incorporates a sidebar that renders the lock extremely difficult or impossible to bump.
