The Headhunter Policy
A headhunter functions as a specialized personnel finder for companies and businesses focusing on executive or specialized positions. Headhunters work on a contract basis, providing their services and then moving on to the next client once a recruit is found and accepted.

Networking and Relationships
-
Headhunters find their business through maintaining relationships and networking with executives of various businesses and companies in their territory. They frequently work by phone and through meetings, events and friendships, in a person-to-person sales approach.
Compensation Policies
-
Headhunters typically work on a commission basis. They do not generally charge the recruit since they are working for the hiring company. The more successful agreements they have with companies, the more they are referred and used by other companies. However, this is not always the case, as much depends on individual contracts.
-
Lone Wolves
-
Headhunters are lone businesses in and of themselves, thus their reputation, along with keeping an active list of projects and potential recruits, is critical for ongoing business. For a particularly advantageous situation, headhunters might temporarily work together since every hire has its own individual agreement.
