Software for Scales

Software applications exist for each type of scale.

Scales are used in a variety of applications, including industrial facilities, medical facilities and labs. Several types of scales such as bench scales, parts counting scales, drum scales and floor scales are available. Most scales come with the necessary software to operate the scales.

Identification

Scale software allows you to collect scale data from one or more scales. The software generally installs and runs on a standard Windows-based computer that is connected to the scales.

Function

The software reads the data from the scales and converts it into usable form. Usable form is dictated by the specific application. For example, an accounting application may require the software to record data into an accounting ledger, or a laboratory application may require the software to apply the data to complex mathematical models for analysis.

Features

Some basic features associated with this type of software include high-speed measurements, automatic report creation and creating and printing labels. In addition, some applications can exchange data with other programs when applicable.
