When Will Carnations Begin to Grow?
Carnations planted from seed will begin to grow quickly. While most of the seeds will sprout, they usually don't grow at the same rate. How quickly the carnation seedlings sprout out of the ground depends on the growing conditions. Does this Spark an idea?

General Sprout Time
-
The general sprouting time of carnation seeds varies. If the seeds are properly cared for, you could expect the seeds to begin to sprout as early as six to seven days.
Speeding up the Growing Time Indoors
-
Carnation seeds can be sprouted quicker by starting them indoors and placing them in a sealed plastic bag in a warm windowsill or near some other warm heat source. This method creates a moist, warm environment in which the seeds can sprout in as little as three to four days.

Growing Quickly Outdoors
-
The speed of the growing process can also be increased when carnation seeds are planted outside. A clear plastic container, like a 2-liter soda bottle, can be used to create a mini-greenhouse outdoors. Cut the top off of the bottle, and invert the bottle over the freshly planted seeds.
