VBA is no longer officially supported by AutoCad but it can be installed.

According to Autodesk, the makers of AutoCAD, Microsoft stopped offering native VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) support to new customers in 2007. However Autodesk is still enabled for VBA and it can be installed.

  1. Unofficial VBA

    • VBA for AutoCAD can be downloaded for AutoCAD 2010 and 2011 in 32-bit and 64-bit formats from the Autodesk website (see Resources). Because it is an unofficial installation, Autodesk may not be able to solve all problems encountered with VBA in AutoCAD.

    Function

    • Using VBA with AutoCAD provides a visual tool for customization. It also provides access to ActiveX automation in AutoCAD and to VBA objects, keywords and constants.

    Installation

    • Autodesk recommends that if you are installing multiple applications that VBA be installed last. This ensures that VBA is properly installed for all applications. If VBA is not installed last and it is necessary to install more Autodesk applications, VBA should be uninstalled and then reinstalled when other installations are complete.
