Comcast RCA Modem Problems
If an issue arises with a Comcast RCA modem the first thing to do is isolate the problem. It may still be necessary to call technical support but narrowing down the problem will speed things up considerably.

Problems
-
Problems you could encounter with your RCA modem include not being able to connect to the Internet at all or connecting intermittently. Some users may also encounter a situation where one computer can connect and another can't, or situations where a connection exists but is unusually slow.
Comcast Website
-
If Internet access is still possible a quick visit to the Comcast Website could clear things up. Comcast's "Network Health" page will display any service outages or network problems that may be causing modem problems. Then, their "One Click Solutions" page could provide an easy and automatic fix. Find links to both of these pages in the Resources section.

Power Cycle
-
Sometimes all that is needed to fix a modem problem is to reset the connection. By turning the power off, unplugging the modem for 30 seconds, plugging it back in and turning the power on, the modem can attempt to make a new connection.
Hard Wire
-
If the Internet indicator light is on try plugging the computer directly into the modem. If the problem clears up this means that it is the router and not the modem causing problems.
Firewall
-
In some cases firewalls can cause interference with a modem. Try disabling or uninstalling any third party firewalls that may be running.
