Use kitchen rags rather than paper towels.

House cleaning typically involves chemical cleaners and disposable products, but it does not need to be this way. Environmental house cleaning reduces your ecological footprint and makes your home more green-friendly.

Cloth Replacement

Instead of using paper towels, use cloth rags instead. Paper towels can be recycled, but you can avoid using them altogether. Instead, rip up old clothes and tattered towels to make rags, and launder them when they get dirty.

Eliminate Household Chemicals

Household chemicals are harsh and can find their way into the water supply, which then finds its way into the environment. Instead, opt for natural cleansers like borax, lemon juice, vinegar and baking soda.

Not only does environmental house cleaning help the environment, it can also make you healthier. Fabric softeners can cause allergy problems and skin irritation, while the ammonia from many cleaning products cause irritation to the lungs and the eyes.
