Founded in South Korea in 1978, KD Navien is a global leader in supplying HVAC products throughout the world. Although the company is an Energy Reduction Award Winner and an innovator in tankless water heater technology, you may experience problems with your Navien tankless water heater.
Navien water heaters occasionally turn on and off on their own due to ignition failure. This problem can be solved by checking the power and gas supplies. If both the power and gas supplies are functioning, the problem may be the ignition switch.
Older Navien models may suffer from corroding flow sensors, which impede overall performance. If you own an older model you can simply take out the sensor and clean it. Newer Navien models feature a noncorrosive stainless steel flow sensor.
Overheating Heat Exchanger
Although not frequently reported, the heat exchanger on your Navien water heater may overheat. In the case of an overheating heat exchanger, you should turn off the device and turn it on 30 minutes later.
If you experience persisting problems, you can call Navien Tech Support at 1-800-519-8794 or visit their website at navienamerica.com.
