Keyboard shortcuts make it easier to open programs, but can get in the way

PC Doctor software comes pre-installed on some HP computers. Included with this installation is the "Ctl + Alt + H" shortcut that automatically opens the software. This shortcut uses the default Windows shortcut configuration, which allows users to change or remove its functionality.

  1. Assignment

    • Windows uses the "Ctl + Alt" keys in addition to an alphanumeric key to launch programs or executable files. PC Doctor's "Ctl + Alt + H" designation may conflict with a third party program that uses the same key combination for another action.

    Removal

    • Right-click on the PC Doctor launch icon in the Start menu and choose "Properties." In the Shortcut tab, click in the "Shortcut key" box and press "Backspace" to remove the shortcut. Click "OK" or "Apply" to save the changes.

    Other Shortcuts

    • Assign a different keystroke as the shortcut instead by clicking in the "Shortcut key" box and pressing an alphanumeric key. The function will automatically add the "Ctl + Alt" keys to the shortcut. Press the new key combination to open PC Doctor.
