Speech-to-Text Conference Calls

Speech-to-text is a feature offered through many conference call service providers. This feature converts speech into typewritten words by pushing a button.

Purpose

After a conference call is made with a client, it is often helpful to have a written copy of the conversation. With this feature, an option is selected, the speech is automatically converted into text and a copy is sent to the company hosting the call.

Description

Speech-to-text is similar to a transcription. Instead of someone transcribing it, it is done electronically. This process is accomplished by sending the conversation to a voicemail. The voicemail runs software that converts the words to text.

Benefits

Reviewing calls with clients or employees is made easier through this feature. Instead of listening to a recording to find details of a conversation, a transcription is viewed. This allows an easier way of locating information. These transcriptions can be stored for future reference.
