The GE SmartWater filter uses granular carbon to clean water. The filter is capable of removing sand, soil, silt, sediment, chlorine and rust without eliminating fluoride from the water.

Dimensions and Capacity

SmartWater filters measure 4.625 inches in diameter and 10 inches in length. This type of filter has a capacity of 30,000 gallons and a life of up to three months.

Operation

A rating of 25 microns represents the smallest particle size that this filter can remove from water. The operating temperature for GE SmartWater units is slightly over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and the flow rate ranges between 4 and 20 gallons per minute.
