The Builder's Risks for the Installation of Solar Panels
Getting solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed in your home can be environmentally and economically advantageous. However, there are a number of risks solar panel installers have to take into account when carrying out the work. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Materials
-
Someone installing PV panels is at risk from inhaling toxic materials. This is because the materials are sprayed onto the photovoltaic cells as part of the PV panel manufacturing process.
Falling
-
If you are installing the panels on a roof, you risk the danger of falling off, especially if moss, lichen or other slippery substances are present on the roof. If part of the roof is insecure, there is also the risk of falling through.
-
Electrocution
-
Installers have to wire inverters as part of the installation process and therefore risk electrocution.
Tools
-
To install solar panels, it is necessary to use tools such as drills and electronic screwdrivers. Operating these tools at any time, including during a solar panel installation, may result in injury.
