How Long for Brugmansia to Germinate?
Brugmansias are heavenly scented flowering shrubs or small trees that are commonly known as angel's trumpets. True to their name, brugmansia flowers resemble trumpets, in shades of white, yellow, pink, orange and red. Notoriously slow to germinate, there are ways to trick brugmansia seeds into sprouting quicker. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Seed Preparation
-
Soaking and peeling may help speed up the germination process. Soak the seeds for 24 hours in a bowl of water. When they are finished soaking, peel away the outer seed coat. Soak the brugmansia seeds in a solution of 1 tbsp. hydrogen peroxide and 3/4 cup of water for 10 minutes to remove any bacteria and then plant them immediately.
Germination Bed
-
Don't cover the seeds with too much soil -- 1/4 inch is fine. Place the container in an area that remains between 68 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, out of direct sun.

Germination Period
-
Brugmansia can take anywhere from two weeks to several months to germinate. If you remember to keep the temperature up and the soil slightly moist at all times, you give it the best chance of sprouting quickly.
