Computer Forensics & CompTIA Training Online

CompTIA is a computing technology industry association that has developed a number of certifications recognized by employers, including government agencies, as important certifications in training for employment in computer forensics.

  1. Certification

    • Agencies within the U.S. government recognize CompTIA certifications, such as CompTIA A+ and CompTIA + as required for employment in computer forensics. CompTIA courses include knowledge of subjects including motherboards, network security, processors and storage and media devices.

    Training

    • Online training courses are available from colleges and universities throughout the U.S., CompTIA training in the Network + certification covers 80 hours of study. Recertification for CompTIA certifications is required every three years.

    Employment

    • The FBI requires CompTIA certification as a prerequisite of employment for Regional Computing Forensics Labs and for entry to its Computer Analysis Response Team Examiner training. Computer forensics employment with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network + certification.
