In a world inundated by electronic devices, many of the products available require consistent or intermittent recharging of batteries. Battery charger plates are available to consumers for use with a variety of different products.

Identification

A charger plate is a mechanism that charges the battery of an electronic device, so named in part due to its flat shape that typically allows the device to be charged to rest inside. For some electronics such as cameras, the plate charger is designed to charge at a "slower, more gradual" speed."

Uses

There are a number of different electronic devices that can be charged with a charger plate. These include but are not limited to cameras, cell phones and laptops. Some charger plates are designed by manufacturers to house specific items while others are generic products compatible to different brands and models.

Considerations

Charger plates can have alternate components that actually allow for the charging process. Some are found with a PDA cable with an ethernet connection on the end that can be plugged into a computer. Different plates are produced to service various forms of batteries such as camera-specific and lithium.
