Laser Alignment Training
Precision Concepts Group, Inc., which provides plant engineering services, finds that thermal growth and subtle, but inevitable, movement of precision manufacturing equipment forces production errors that can only be prevented by lasers. Laser alignment training provides the necessary education to work in this field.

Technology
-
Four specific technologies in laser alignment each have different purposes. Boralign measures bores in internal combustion engines, turbines and other machinery. Rotalign accurately measures the straightness of ways and beds. Centralign measures the distance and center point between two laser emitters. Lastly, permalign monitors alignment changes of rotating machinery, known as "thermal growth."
Overview/Calibration
-
A laser alignment overview course provides an understanding of the benefits and application of laser systems, as well as training in basic alignment procedures. A laser system calibration course teaches how to qualify a laser system to ensure it is working properly. Both classes have a capacity of six students, last 24 hours and cost $1,250 (as of January 2011).

Advanced
-
Advanced training courses are available for specific jobs within laser alignment. Examples include turbine alignment certification, a 16-hour class that costs $1,050, and bore alignment certification, which lasts eight hours and costs $850.
