Where to Purchase
-
Greenhouses are an ideal place to purchase garden hoses and plants. Horticultural experts are on-site to answer questions and offer advice. Many hardware stores and grocery stores have a designated garden center, stocking plants and supplies during the growing season.
In the Summer
-
Keep your plants healthy during the heat of summer by watering thoroughly, preferably in the morning. Use mulch and manure to nourish the plant and remove water-stealing weeds promptly to keep a thriving garden that doesn't require daily watering. Keep your garden hose accessible during the growing season. Minimize kinks and protect your hose by storing it with a hose reel or hose pot.

In the Winter
-
Use cold frames, covers and water-filled insulators to protect plants from the cold and keep your cold-season crops thriving in the winter. As freezing weather sets in, make sure your garden hose is disconnected from the faucet. Coil it by stacking loops of hose on top of each other, without twisting in the process. Allow the water to drain as you loop the hose and store it out of the winter elements.
