How to Buy Carolon Multi Layer Support Socks

How to Buy Carolon Multi Layer Support Socks thumbnail
Carolon stockings provide much more support and constriction that your average stockings.

The Carolon Company, based in North Carolina, provides medical hosiery and constricting stockings for people suffering from conditions that cause swelling of the arteries and veins. The company makes a variety of stockings, including multi-layer support stockings that feature a tighter underlayer covered by an outer stocking material. They are used for the treatment of venous insufficiency and ulcers. You can purchase the stockings directly from Carolon, but your local medical supply store may also carry what you're looking for. Since the stockings are medically necessary for some people, talk with your doctor about obtaining them from a source that can be claimed on your insurance policy.

  1. Fitting

    • Click into the "Consumer Store" page of Carolon's home page near the top of the page (see Resources) and then click "Fitting Chart" on the left column. Use a soft measuring tape to measure the thickness of your calf and ankle in inches, and then compare that to the chart provided on the "Fitting Chart" page to find your correct size.

    Finding Your Stockings

    • After finding the correct size, go back to the Consumer Store main page. Click "Health Products" on the left column, and then choose "Multi-Layer Compression" from the list of available products. That will lead you to a screen that shows a number of color options. Click on the stockings that you'd like to purchase and click "Add to Cart."

    Payment

    • You'll need a major credit card to pay for your Carolon stockings. On the checkout page, click "Register & Checkout" and enter in your name, email address, shipping information and credit card information. Your new stockings will be sent to the shipping address you provided. Be sure to keep the receipt, as you may be able to submit your purchase for reimbursement by Medicare or another insurance policy.
