Description

Growing to 6-feet tall and wide, Euryops, also known as the shrub daisy, is a tall, evergreen shrub bearing yellow, daisy-like flowers throughout the year. The leaves are green and deeply divided growing from numerous stems.

Growing Requirements

Euryops grows in a wide range of soils but prefers well-drained, organic-rich soil and full sun. This shrub is not frost tolerant and dies in winter in climates colder than United States Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zone 9.

Uses

Use Euryops as a colorful, informal hedge or foundation plant. The flowers attract butterflies and bees to the garden. Birds feed on the seedheads once the flowers fade. Use the long-stemmed flowers in floral arrangements.

Care

Pruning Euryops in late fall or early summer controls the size and keeps the plant looking neat. Cutting back spent flowers avoids self-seeding and encourages further blooming. Feed Euryops with a general-purpose fertilizer in the spring.
