Roses are common landscaping plants and come in a variety of sizes, colors and shapes. Different kinds of roses are loosely classified according to their similarities, but aren't necessarily related. Does this Spark an idea?

Tea

These roses have double-petaled spicy-smelling flowers with smooth or prickly stems. They can be shrub-shaped or prone to climbing.
Climbing

Climbing roses have long, supple canes and are suitable for training on fences and arbors. They tend to be delicate in cold climates.

Floribunda

Floribunda roses produce clusters of single or double-petal roses throughout the summer and have prickly stems.
Hybrid Tea/Grandiflora

Most hybrid tea roses are double-flowered and produce less-abundant blossoms than other types. They bloom continuously from summer to autumn.
Miniature

Also called patio roses, these compact, dense plants have tiny flowers and leaves. They work both in gardens and indoors.
Polyanthas

These hardy roses have small, low growing flowers that grow in clusters. Polyanthas were popular in in the early 20th century, but have grown less common.
