Homemade Water Table

Homemade Water Table thumbnail
Children can enjoy hours of fun with a homemade water table.

Water tables consist of a receptacle filled with water and placed on an elevated stand. The ensemble allows children to enjoy hours of cool summertime fun while preventing a muddy mess.

  1. Base

    • The base can basically be made from any stable surface that will support the weight of several gallons of water without the tub slipping. Old tables, milk crates or patio furniture can be used as an easily deconstructed base for easy set-up and storage.

    Tub

    • The tub should be large enough to hold at least a few gallons of water. Low-profile containers, small kiddie pools, utility tubs and wash basins make excellent receptacles. What you use depends on the size of your base and the accessories to be used in it.

    Accessories

    • Boats are the perfect accessory to accompany water tables, but you can also install bridges, islands, fish, rubber duckies and practically anything else you can think of that floats or swims. Add sand to the bottom of the tub to create more options.
