Tube Saw Guide

Using a hacksaw is the most basic way to cut a tube.

A tube or pipe saw guide is a device to help you make a clean, even, straight cut. There are several types of tube saw guides available. Each is developed for a different type of saw or application.

Types of Tubes and Saws

Tubing and pipes come in a wide variety of sizes and materials. You can buy tubing from 1/8 inch in diameter to several feet in diameter. It can be made of soft plastic or an extremely hard metal alloy.

Simple Clamp Guides

For hack saws and band saws you can buy a clamp like guide to make your cut exactly where you want it. The clamp screws down onto the pipe so that it wont move and a groove for the blade ensures a straight cut vertical to the tube.

Table Saw Guides

If you decide to buy a table type tube cutting saw, it will come with a specially hardened blade ready to cut hard metal pipe as well as anything softer. The saw comes equipped with an arm type guide and a wall to facilitate your work.
