Microsoft Office Document Imaging allows you to scan paper documents and convert them into digital images that you can save in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) or Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI) to your computer's hard drive, network server, CD or DVD.

The imaging aspect of Document Imaging allows you to view scanned documents on your monitor, rearrange multi-page documents, select and manipulate text, and annotate scanned documents and online faxes. You can also send documents by email or fax.
